Hello everyone,
I received an email from Jenny last week. She wants to visit me on the 29-11 (scary...)
The lesson she is coming to visit is my Language arts 1 class. Nice students and eager to learn.
I have alreay learned so much these last 3 weeks. Once again I checked readinglogs (another 80...pff) and it is amazing when you see what the students write down. Also learning new vocabulary. Ofcourse I will add these reading materials to my portfolio but to give you a preview: 2 or 3 parts are based on reading and the last 2 parts are always new vocabulary and writing a letter. This is also a great way to learn new vocab for me.
Every time when I check their work I see these new words (around 10 per test) 8 times...hihi.
So during these last 3 weeks I have learned more than 30 new words! This is also one of my goals that I wanted to achieve at the end of my (short) internship at AFNORTH.
This week the students had to hand in their final drafts of their comparison essay. They were a bit loud because they had early dismissal all week but I love them:)

Sounds you are having a hard time with those readinglogs, but as you already mentioned, its part of being a teacher... AND! It's great your vocabulary improves by doing this! I wish I could say the same, but unfortunately I'm not learning any new English vocab. :( Everybody speaks Dutch! And since I'm the 'Dutch teacher' I'm also teaching in Dutch... Maybe I should try to read some English books in my spare time ;)
