Yesterday Jenny came to observe a lesson at AFNORTH. I thought it went well but it is really hard to measure the level of the students. They are American and I'M used to teaching Dutch secondary school students.
Later I will add another pi
This is my lessonplan when Jenny came to observe my lesson yesterday.

2. differences between the book chapter and the movie fragment

presentation 2 ( 4 min) ( answers discussion 5 min)

Listen to the song : there’s a place called home and fill in the gaps.

Lyrics:

There’s a place called home. I can almost see
With a red front door and a roaring fire and a Christmas tree.
Yes a place called home full of love and family and I’m there at the door watching you come home to me.

Through the years, I recall this day. In your arms when I finally found my way.
To a place called home and a life for two.
You’ll have everything you could ever want. All I want is you.
And a place called home you and I will always be. In the dark of the night let your heart come home to me.

Through the years, I recall this day. In your arms when I finally found my way. To a place called home and a life with you.
When the days are long and the love is strong and the dreams are true.
Just a place called home you and I will always be.
In the dark of the night let your heart come home to me.
To the place in my heart where you’re always home with me.

Transfer Let students work in groups of 4

Place mat.
Every group of four pupils receives a paper. One pupil draws a rectangle in the middle of the paper. This rectangle is the shared rectangle. Then every pupil draws his own rectangle from the corners of the shared rectangle towards the corners of the paper. (see picture)
I will tell them to write down what they do for Christmas. (eat, wear, buy etc…) They have a couple of minutes to write down their answers in their own rectangle.
Then a discussion can begin. The pupils need to come up with ‘the perfect christmas’ combining 1 item from every corner and write it down in the centre.
Let one student from every group read their ‘perfect christmas’.

    Sanne:

So nice to see you also use movies during your lessons. Is it something that you've learned during your studies? Because Coen also does it. Very nice, maybe I can use it in primary school as well. Hope your feedback from Jenny was satisfiing. See you!

    Marietje:

    Hi Mariechelle!

Nice to see that Jenny came by and it went well :) I didn't expect anything else from you!! It's indeed a very nice thing that you use films during your lessons, and what I can see from your lesson plan is that it was a very intensive and inspiring lesson, I think it was at a good level for the students.

    Keep up the good work!
