Hello everyone,
This week....well not the whole week....this Thursday the Americans celebrate thanksgiving and that is what the lessons for this week are mostly about.
Below you see my lessonplans.
I go to AFNORTH every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday but because they work with A and B days I teach the same lessons to 5 language arts classes so the lessonplans need to be multiplied by 5...hihi.
But this is how my lessons look like. This is the way we teach here at AFNORTH. Every lesson is 80 minutes long so you can do a lot in one lesson.

Language Arts
Journal:
For today and its blessings I owe the World an attitude of gratitude.
Picked this journal because this week is thanksgiving (25-11) and my supervisor also loves it because he gets double paid.
Today the students will learn more about thanksgiving.
why puritans went to the US? Because of the Church of England and couldn’t have their own religion
It all started in Plymouth in Massachusetts.
They start thinking about what these people had for diner during the first thanksgiving.
Indians had corn, beans, potatoes and the meat was usually deer, choose or duck.
Every student than needs to brainstorm on thanksgiving and come up with words that are related to the topic.( with their eyes closed)
After that they need to write down their favourite thanksgiving dish.
Need to start writing the recipe for it.
Mind:
1. amounts
2. ingredients
3.material etc
Due on Wednesday.

A Day
Language Arts
Journal: who is rich? He that is content. Who is that? Nobody.
After the journal we started talking about North Korea issue.
Today we start with a new piece of reading. Students read chapters 1-5 in their literature book. The story is called ‘mother and daughter’.
Students learn how to describe characters. They need to write down ad least 5 characters traits you admire in a person and visa versa.
( inferences= predicting the future in a book)
Students came up with these words.
1. honest
2. trustworthy
3. considerate
4. integrity
5. serious
6. humorous
7. valiant
8. optimistic
9. good attitude
10. outgoing
11. respectful
12. patience
13. flexible
14. knowledge
15. happy
Students mentioned their favourite movie character. Kevin did a short recap on reading and answering questions. Never start a sentence with a pronoun or a conjunction.

It's nice to see how you made your lessonplans. Also fun to read you are also a kind of subject teacher, or did I misunderstood. Very easy for you to teach the same lesson over and over again and fun to see how you probably have to adjust things in every lesson depending of the group.
(Sorry, it is too early, my English is horrible at this time of day).

Hi Mariechelle,
I believe it's great to teach the same lessons to different classes. In my experience you learn a lot from it (adjusting to individual children, using reflections to improve the lesson for the next class).
I also notice that you're learning a lot of new words. That must be great as a subject teacher!

Hi Mariechelle!
Nice to see how you prepare your lessons, I used it to prepare last week lessons, and it worked just fine! Wow! Lessons from 80 minutes that's almost the double time I had when I was teached in high school. I think you can get a lot out of the students in that time!
